President Walesa talks with Cuban dissidents

Cuba Like People’s Republic of Poland

author: Lech Walesa

The last so-called elections in Cuba – because what kind of elections are they without a choice – showed clearly the absurdity of the communist system on this beautiful island. The degree of farce and ridiculousness is definitely similar, especially when comparing the Cuban situation with the last days of the communist system in Poland. And this is a good sign.

The letters with the words of support and solidarity were handed to the recipients by Mr. Gulczynski, the director of the Lech Walesa Institute during his visit in Havana on October 18-31, 2007.  The visit was the element of the program “Polish Solidarity with Cuba” in order to show the moral support to the pro-democratic activists.
